I am Rebeccah May, and my business makes exquisite cakes and confectionery by design for clients in the UK and international locations from my kitchens in Jersey, The Channel Islands, and Suffolk I am passionate about the art of sugar and whilst pursuing my education and career in this culinary field have found myself on a really exciting adventure!
Two highly influential people in my life taught me the foundation techniques of cookery, my Mother and my Godmother. With my Mother based in England and my Godmother in Jersey, I benefited from an education in both English and Continental cuisine. When I was 17 I completed a course at The Cordon Bleu, London.
Initially guided onto a corporate path, over 14 years I forged a successful career in Retail HR, working for a number of household names including Debenhams and House of Fraser. However, after a life changing event a few years ago my attention returned to my passion for creative cuisine.
I am a qualified Patisserie & Confectionery Chef, graduated from the prestigious Brooklands College as an NVQ 3. I have completed chocolatier certificates at Barry Callebaut Chocolate Academy and courses at Squires Kitchen. I have graduated intermediate ABC in Cake Decoration & Sugarcraft.
I founded REBECCAH MAY in January 2009 and the business is growing at an exciting pace with the Rebeccah May Boutique Online Cake & Chocolate Shop launched on 19th November 2010. Over the coming months this cake shop online will expand the range of handmade luxury products to include special event cakes, wedding cakes, hand decorated biscuits, unique chocolates and other fabulous food gifts only available from Rebeccah May.
I am fortunate to work with clients from private individuals to distinguished corporate clients. I’m delighted to have access to a network of talented individuals who help make the business so creative and the food delicious.
